Vintage Nightgown

Anyone recognize this stylish nightgown?
I'm not sure, but I think she resembles another blonde child some 30 years ago.
Graceful and ladylike, that's my baby.

Micah's 7th Birthday--April 23

Not normally a "party family" we resisted Micah's pleas for a birthday party for one more year. We did surprise Micah by planning a camping trip for him, his brother, and friends of the family--Rod and Logan Tweet.  Thank you for all of the camping gear--most of it got tried and tested in the Palo Duro Canyon on April 25.

Micah's choice for a birthday cake this year came from his 1st grade reading book.  It didn't take long for him and his siblings to disassemble the "cake".
Aunt Ellen and Uncle Bob sent a letter that made Micah smile and Mommy cry.  We sure wish Micah were able to spend more time with them, so he could know them as we do.
One of many outdoor/camping supplies that Micah received this birthday--we had to remind him that he didn't need a canteen at school--he can use the drinking fountains.

The highlight for Mommy was hearing Micah read his own birthday cards!
The slam-bang disc flyer from Granny and PawPaw rated a trip to show-and-tell on Monday.
Doesn't really matter what's in the package, a gift from the DeGarmos must be good.

Happy Spring!

Cali and Nathan are perfectly happy to spend most afternoons in the sandbox.

Tumblin' Tumbleweed

Look what Nathan caught as it tumbled down the sidewalk.
You can tell we're still new to the Texas Panhandle.  We pose for pictures in the front yard with a giant weed.  It really is pretty cool--huge too!  I'm even being more touristy by saving it--I've planned to take one to Iowa this summer, and I'll be hard-pressed to find a bigger one.

Evenings in Amarillo

We're loving it here.  Our spring weather has varied from highs in the 40s to highs in the 80s, but we have enjoyed it all.  The boys are only in the house if they've run out of things to do outside--which is rare.  Praise God that He has given us such a great place to live and raise a family!

Softball Cookout

Can you see the little Black boy in the tree above?
There he is!

Nathan and Cali enjoying the fellowship at the Trinity softball post-game cookout.

Ricky's glad to be back on a softball team--
Nathan took this picture--Pretty good job, huh?

Easter Best

The children are allowed to stand in the flower beds
for picture purposes only.
The purple tulip is a casualty of this "stand in the flower bed" decision.
Cali and Daddy care for the tulips, runiculus', and daffodils.
