Cali was "cold!"

Enjoying the Amarillo snow!!

Nathan arrived from the backyard with a handful of snow.
No yellow snow here!

The snow squeaks under your feet
--my uncle in Iowa taught me
that that tells you the temperature is below freezing.
It also means the snow won't stick together
--no snowballs or snowmen
--the boys are spending the morning
making "snake trails" in the snow.
Our first snowfall as Amarillo residents.
The boys got up this morning
and started watching "White Christmas".
As they sang along with Bing,
I opened the blinds for them to see the backyard
--covered in a mantle of white.

Ricky went up to church this morning
to help replace light bulbs in the sanctuary.
He went this way.

What a beautiful, winter sky--
looking southeast from the front of the house.

Cali's 2nd Birthday

Strawberry swirl cheesecake--Yum!

Nathan wrapped up his own treasured dog
and orange garbage truck for Cali.
She was thrilled when she opened them,
and often has to have them with her.

Truly thrilled to open the "pretty socks"

Cali has to fight off her brothers
to play with the blocks she got from
Uncle David and Aunt Laura.

Cali and Nathan love to swing together
--Cali kept complaining that her hands were "cold!"
I'm remembering that 2 is a tough age for playing outside in the winter.
Mittens are frustrating for her, and gloves are an impossible thought for me.

Exhaused--on the way home from Wylie after our Thanksgiving visit.
Look closely, you'll notice Nathan's hand is resting on Micah's head
--both of them sound asleep.
Cali enjoyed snuggling with her Aunt Laura and her cousin Allyssa during a brief visit to Laura's parent's house over Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving at Grandpa and Grandma's House

Cali and Nathan shared their evening snacksCali loved having Grandma read with her.

The Black children enjoying their bedtime snacks.

The boys had fun carving the jack-o-lanterns with Daddy.

Nathan's afternoon daycare teacher painted a Trinity Tiger just for him.

Micah made the principal's list (all A's) during the first quarter of first grade.

Cali has found that she fits perfectly into the coat closet.

PREPARING FOR FALL FESTIVAL AT TLCS
Who needs a costume, when you're already a princess?

Nathan colored his own spots on his Lion King costume,
so he could be a cheetah.

Micah put together his own cowboy look
--complete with modified Amish hat and flannel shirt from Grandma.

Cali, as our baby giraffe.
The Black and Tweet families at the Fall Festival meal.
We've been so happy to be included as part of their family
--the kids love the extra attention.
